Fly smarter: Elbit Systems of America to highlight advanced capabilities at 2019 AFA Air Warfare

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (Feb. 27, 2019) – At Elbit Systems of America, we imagine the future of avionics and what it takes to fly smarter. The company will showcase a number of advanced capabilities at the 2019 Air Force Association’s Air Warfare Symposium and Technology Exposition. The symposium and exposition runs Feb. 27 – March 1, 2019 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

“AFA Air Warfare allows Elbit Systems of America to demonstrate what it does best for the U.S. Air Force,” said Raanan Horowitz, president and CEO of Elbit Systems of America. “We’re driven to deliver the solutions that keep our military pilots informed and safe for any mission. We help pilots fly smarter.”

Examples of the company’s solutions that will be highlighted at the exhibit (booth 301) include capabilities for fighter, tanker, trainer and transport aircraft for the U.S. Air Force and the Air National Guard and include the following:

  •  Advanced next generation cockpits
The foundation for the future cockpit is our Advanced Cockpit Station, which optimizes tactical situational displays, processes advanced applications and provides high-definition formats for complex sensor video presentations.

  • Enhanced situational awareness during day, night and degraded visual environments
Elbit Systems of America is a trusted provider of superior Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) systems. The company brings generationally advanced capabilities to the fight by boosting situational awareness and decision support solutions that focus on all aspects of sensing, processing and displaying to provide pilots critical information faster.

  • Early missile warning threat detection and improved aircraft survivability
The combat-proven infrared missile warning system for the F-16 aircraft provides pilots earlier and improved awareness of threats. Elbit Systems of America integrates its missile warning and threat detection systems with our leading HMD capabilities.

  • Laser seekers for PGMs enable precise engagement of targets
Elbit Systems of America’s small lightweight Precision Guided Munitions (PGMs) are highly accurate against stationary and high-speed moving targets. Laser seekers and sensors provide increased accuracy and flexibility, while minimizing collateral damage. The company is poised to meet the needs of increased PGM production to satisfy the needs of the U.S. Air Force.

  • Health monitoring capabilities for pilots
The Canary Pilot Health Monitoring system provides real-time monitoring of pilot vital signs, providing early warning and training for hypoxia and high G-force conditions.

  • Increased aircraft mission availability and reduced operating cost
The company offers contractor logistic support services and cockpit upgrades for military aircraft platforms. M7 Aerospace LLC, a subsidiary of Elbit Systems of America, is the type certificate owner and original equipment manufacturer for the RC-26B aircraft.
