A History of Success
Elbit America is an Aerospace & Defense solution provider specializing in platforms for enhanced situational awareness, survivability and lethality. For the U.S. Army, Elbit America provides solutions that directly benefit soldiers and allow them to dominate the battlefield, wherever the fight takes them.
Following are examples of Elbit America’s advanced technologies, capabilities and solutions that improve mission effectiveness and readiness for the Army.
1993 | Elbit America's First Contract on F-16
With fewer than 10 employees, the original company was incorporated in the State of Delaware in 1992. In early 1993, the company started operating in Fort Worth after purchasing a manufacturing plant from another defense contractor. Operations in Fort Worth started with one contract to service the F-16 fighter aircraft, and 170 employees; and with a commitment to helping its customers keep America safe.
1994 | MODERNIZING GROUND COMBAT
Elbit America wins contracts to provide content to the U.S. Army’s Bradley Fighting Vehicle and V-22 tiltrotor aircraft.
1996 | PIONEERING HMD TECHNOLOGY
Formed in 1996 to provide helmet mounted displays for fixed-wing military aircraft, Rockwell Collins ESA Vision Systems LLC (RCEVS), has delivered thousands of Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS) HMDs across the world for F-15, F-16 and F/A-18 advanced cockpits.
2000 | ADVANCING THE APACHE
Elbit America purchases IHADDS pilot helmet for Army Apache mounted display program. Since the early 2000's Elbit America has provided critical systems, upgrades, and continued sustainment for the AH-64 Apache that begin with avionics and displays, IHADSS, and our Multi-core Mission Processor.
2005 | PRECISION GUIDED MUNITIONS
Manufactured in Fort Worth, Texas starting in 2005, our Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM), Griffin Laser Seeker, and Laser Small Diameter Bomb delivered accuracy and affordability and became critical and affordable weapons of choice for the United States and its international partners.
2008 | LEADING THE HMD MARKET
RCEVS’ success with JHMCS led to its selection as HMD provider for F-35 with hundreds of systems delivered to date. The F-35 HMD gives F-35 pilots unsurpassed situational awareness by displaying critical flight information and sensor video throughout the entire mission. The HMD serves as the virtual Head-Up Display (HUD), enabling the F-35 to become the first tactical fighter in 50 years without a traditional HUD.
2010 | NEXT-GEN COCKPIT SOLUTIONS
In 2010, built on the success and experience in RCEVS and on the Apache, Elbit America expanded its portfolio to include situational awareness systems, Missile Warning Systems (MWS)/EW/DAS, Large Area Displays, and Embedded training for next generation aircraft.
