At the Future Indirect Fires Summit, Elbit America is helping shape the dialogue on Army fires modernization and showcasing SIGMA as a next-generation capability
Jan. 27, 2026
This week, leaders from across the United States Army, U.S. Marine Corps, allied militaries, and industry are gathering in Arlington, Virginia for the 2026 Future Indirect Fires Summit.
The event is designed to connect senior decision-makers and technical experts to discuss how the indirect fires community is modernizing platforms, support systems, munitions, and concepts of employment – especially as operational demands evolve in Europe and the Indo-Pacific.
Elbit America is the proud Four-Star Lead Partner of this year’s summit. As the lead sponsor, our team is helping convene conversations that matter to the future of U.S. and allied firepower, sessions that span long- and short-range fires, self-propelled howitzer modernization, loitering munitions, testing, training, and fires innovation, along with the defense industrial base’s role in delivering scale, readiness, and resiliency.
The summit is also expected to bring together more than 300 senior decision makers and indirect fire experts, creating meaningful opportunities to build relationships and align on emerging requirements.
Why our presence matters
With the U.S. Army accelerating modernization efforts, forums like Future Indirect Fires create a direct line between operational needs, acquisition priorities, and industry solutions.
The summit agenda reflects that urgency, covering topics such as continuous transformation in U.S. Army field artillery, insights from brigade commanders, and how indirect fires fit into evolving theater demands. As lead sponsor, our role is not just to attend, but to help move the conversation forward.
SIGMA Demonstrator on display
As part of our Integrated Solutions Division’s presence, we are displaying our SIGMA Demonstrator, a next-generation mobile tactical cannon concept designed to help close mobility, survivability, and lethality gaps for modern maneuver forces.
What is SIGMA?
SIGMA is an American-made, highly mobile 10x10 wheeled platform paired with a fully automated 155mm, 52-caliber cannon and a 40-round magazine in the turret. The system is designed to emplace rapidly (ready to fire in less than a minute) and enable a three-soldier crew to operate from the safety of an armored cab, without dismounting for a fire mission. It also offers true 360-degree firing and 8-plus rounds per minute.
From a performance standpoint, SIGMA is built for the range and responsiveness modern conflicts demand – supporting 65+ km range with rocket-assisted projectiles, a deep onboard magazine, and high-volume fires that can keep pace with maneuver.
SIGMA’s potential role for the U.S. Army
SIGMA is positioned as a mature, production-ready approach to next-generation self-propelled fires, aligned with the Army’s push to move faster toward fieldable capability.
The system is manufactured at our Charleston Operations, leveraging an American supply chain and designed to be fully compatible with U.S. Army logistics and sustainment systems.
SIGMA is designed to deliver protected, automated, “shoot-and-scoot” artillery performance while strengthening domestic production and readiness.
As the summit continues, our presence, and our SIGMA Demonstrator, helps ensure Elbit America is part of the conversations shaping tomorrow’s fires capability; and that our solutions are visible, understood, and aligned with what warfighters will need next.
