Giving Tuesday: Elbit America employees spread kindness in their communities

FORT WORTH, TEXAS DEC. 1, 2020 — In November, Elbit Systems of America's Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Awareness Leadership Advisory Board (IDEA LAB) asked employees who volunteer in their communities to participate in a spotlight in support of Giving Tuesday, a global movement unleashing the power of people to help better our world. Read several of those submissions, below, and thank you to all Elbit America employees who spread kindness and volunteer in their communities.

    Deonne Adams, Talladega Operations
Deonne Adams leads the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society fundraising events, Good Deeds Days and the company's Munford Community Clean Up events in Talladega, Alabama. Deonne goes above and beyond to ensure these events are a success and is much appreciated by the Elbit America family.

    Ben Gaffield, Fort Worth Operations
Did you know that you can borrow a rescue dog for the day? These good boys and girls need attention, affection and exercise. Ben Gaffield supports the Fort Worth Animal Care and Control by assisting with their dogs. If this activity interests you, contact your local animal rescue organizations to find out if they have a similar program.

Betty Cox and Zane Smith, Fort Worth Operations
Every year, Elbit America’s Forth Worth Operations adopts 200 angels from the Salvation Army. Generous employees adopt each one and bless so many families in the community. Betty Cox and Zane Smith help to organize this initiative and both are much appreciated by the Elbit America family. Additionally, Betty Cox supports the Tarrant County Area Food Bank through her church to bring a mobile food panty to the community. Each month, Betty assists by registering those that come to the food pantry, as well as managing traffic, packing boxes and helping to load items into vehicles.

    Cassandra Lusk, Fort Worth Operations
Cassandra Lusk works with the Fort Worth Abandoned Animal Alliance by fostering dogs. Diego and Rico, two stray dogs, were found together outside of a large retail store. Cassandra fostered both, and Diego was adopted by fellow colleague, Nekeyia Hogsette. A few months later, Cassandra adopted Rico.
