Elbit Systems of America announces Board retirements, new Directors and Chairman of its Board of Directors

FORT WORTH, TEXAS Feb. 9, 2021 – Elbit Systems of America, LLC, a provider of products and system solutions that focus on United States military, homeland security, and medical instrumentation customers, announces the retirement of three long-term Board of Director members, the addition of two new Board members and the appointment of a new Board Chairman.

Effective Jan. 1, 2021, General Robert Magnus, USMC (Ret.), Honorable Joe R. Reeder and LTG Ronald V. Hite, USA (Ret.) retired from Elbit Systems of America’s Board in connection with term limits for Board members that each of them helped institute in 2018.

“Bob, Joe and Ron each served on our Board for more than 10 years and were instrumental in helping Elbit Systems of America become a solid mid-tier defense company in the U.S. We will be forever grateful for their dedicated service to our company and the U.S. military,” said Raanan Horowitz, Elbit Systems of America’s President and CEO.

New Outside Director members of Elbit Systems of America’s Board include John C. (Chris) Inglis and Richard H. (Rick) Edwards. They join three current Outside Directors, Robert D. (Bob) Johnson, Honorable Stephen A. Cambone and General Duncan J. McNabb, USAF (Ret.).

Mr. Inglis retired from the Department of Defense in 2014 after 41 years of federal service, including the last seven years as the Deputy Director of the National Security Agency.  He currently serves as a Distinguished Visiting Professor for Cyber Studies at the U.S. Naval Academy and is a Managing Director at Paladin Capital. Mr. Edwards is recently retired from Lockheed Martin where he served for nearly four decades. He capped his career with the company as an Executive Vice President of Lockheed Martin International where he developed and executed strategies to grow the corporation’s international business by strengthening partnerships across 70 countries.

“The addition of Chris and Rick to Elbit Systems of America’s Board is the result of intentional succession planning that was started by our retiring Board members.  Chris and Rick each bring highly relevant expertise and backgrounds that will help position Elbit Systems of America for sustained future growth in current and new markets,” said Raanan Horowitz.

Elbit Systems of America’s new Chairman, Robert D. (Bob) Johnson, assumed his new role on January 1.  He brings decades of executive leadership to Elbit Systems of America, including the General Electric Company and Honeywell International. In addition to his experience in the Aerospace and Defense market, Mr. Johnson serves in additional roles, including Chairman of Spirit Aerosystems, and as a Board member of Spirit Airlines, Roper Technologies and Arizona State University.

“Effective leaders help show the way forward. All of the individuals who serve on the Elbit Systems of America’s Board of Directors bring unique experiences, a tremendous depth of knowledge, and, most importantly, methods to help our company visualize our path to success,” said Raanan Horowitz. “The efforts of our Board, past and present, are illuminating our path, so we continue to expand our portfolio and customer base year after year.”
