Elbit America Breaks Ground on New South Carolina Facility

Elbit Systems of America (Elbit America) is establishing a new, 135,000-square-foot facility to be located at Crosspoint at Palmetto Commerce Park in North Charleston, South Carolina. The facility will house the company’s Ground Combat Vehicle Assembly and Integration Center of Excellence, allowing the company a greater capacity to support its customers. The company broke ground on the new facility and celebrated with key partners from the local & state communities, representatives from its parent company Elbit Systems, Ltd., as well as some of its international customers, on April 6, 2022.

Elbit America’s Ground Combat Vehicle Assembly and Integration Center of Excellence is expected to bring hundreds of new jobs to the area and a projected $380 million economic impact to the region.

This facility is the company’s first expansion into South Carolina and will support contracts awarded to Elbit America by the Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) for the supply of automatic self-propelled howitzer gun systems to the Israeli Defense Forces.

The company also plans to base the assembly and integration efforts of other future programs for both the U.S. Department of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security at the facility.
